Walls are what turn an awkward, sloping garden into usable space, and West Yorkshire has no shortage of awkward sloping gardens. We build retaining walls, raised beds and garden walling across Huddersfield, Barnsley, Wakefield and the surrounding areas.
Retaining walls have a real job to do, so they're built to do it: proper foundations, the right block or stone behind the face, and drainage so water doesn't build up and push the wall out over a few winters. Done right they'll outlast everything else in the garden.
On the face we work in the materials that suit the house — slate-faced cladding for a sharp modern look, reclaimed and natural stone to sit with Yorkshire stone properties, and timber sleepers where a softer, warmer edge works better. Raised beds get the same treatment, capped cleanly and finished to match the paving.
They're rarely a standalone job: most of the walls in our gallery were built as part of a full garden design, holding a terrace, framing a lawn or lifting a planting area.
